Myra Walker Image, Perception, and Style
Curator and Director of The Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas and Professor of Fashion History
Lawndale Art Center presents Image, Perception, and Style, a lecture addressing historical and cultural shifts as represented in fashion magazines between the 1950s and 1960s. During these decades, magazines, such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar led women toward a new sensibility; art, fashion, and music became inextricably linked, giving birth to pop culture. This lecture will examine some of those early links and inspired personalities of the sixties and seventies.
