Lawndale Art Center presents Image, Perception, and Style, a lecture addressing historical and cultural shifts as represented in fashion magazines between the 1950s and 1960s. During these decades, magazines, such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar led women toward a new sensibility; art, fashion, and music became inextricably linked, giving birth to pop culture. This lecture will examine some of those early links and inspired personalities of the sixties and seventies.
