In Conversation: Robert Hodge and Laura August

Join 2018/19 Artist Studio Program participant Robert Hodge in conversation with citysinging’s curator Laura August on Wednesday July 17th from 6:30 – 7:30 PM as they discuss Hodge’s installation piece, Leroy’s, contextualized by Hodge’s knowledge of Houston’s music scene and its development throughout recent decades. Guided by a short playlist curated by Hodge, August and Hodge will explore the shifts in Houston’s musical focus – from jazz to blues to hip-hop – and how these local fascinations influence Hodge’s work as both a native Houstonian and an interdisciplinary artist.
