Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - B.B. Lemon Benefit▼
More than 100 Houstonians came out to the soft opening of B.B. Lemon’s newest location in Montrose benefiting the Lawndale. Attendees were given the opportunity to support the contemporary art center through a minimum of a $50 gift or the purchase of a membership, which ranged from $50-$350. With each donation, guests received a special B.B. Lemon-branded coup glass with the choice of two specialty cocktails by Beverage Director Monique Cioffi-Hernandez. Guests snacked on passed hors d’oeuvres – all miniature versions of the regular B.B. Lemon menu items by Executive Chef Emily Trusler including bite-sized burgers, grilled cheese & tomato soup, bacon parmesan, cups of chili, blue crab beignets, lemon chicken wraps, mini lobster rolls and pigs in a blanket. And for the late-night crowd, pulled pork sliders, TX wagyu hot dogs, mini root beer floats and brownie a la mode bites were passed as well. Guests mingled and danced to tunes by Flashdrive, which included three string players accompanied by a DJ, before bidding in a live auction to win a Lawndale evening garden party for up to 75 guests along with a private showing of its current exhibitions with bites and libations provided by B.B. Lemon. The evening raised more than $10,000 for Lawndale, which will help fund its mission to support all artistic and cultural communities of Houston through a diverse range of exhibitions and programs, including lectures, symposia, film screenings, readings and musical performances.
