Family Day: Fall 2019
In collaboration with Houston Center for Contemporary Craft
Lawndale and Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) invite you to a day of free family fun on Saturday, November 2, 2019, including hands-on activities, a food truck, and exhibitions.
Between 12 – 2 PM at Lawndale, we invite you to dive into hands-on activities inspired by the imagery, themes, and media in our fall exhibitions, including Michael Menchaca’s The Codex Silex Vallis (The Silicon Valley Codex) and Saúl Hernández-Vargas’ Nothing Left of Us in the Wilderness (No queda nada para nosotros en la espesura) on view from September 21 to December 22. Additionally, Lawndale welcomes all to enjoy our galleries open from 11 AM – 5 PM that day.
The fun continues just across the street at HCCC for their Hands-On Houston Family Festival: Celebrating the Craft Garden from 11 AM – 3 PM, inviting families and visitors of all ages to a fun day of indoor and outdoor activities, such as paper making, fabric dyeing with indigo, and food and refreshments from It’s a Wrap! food truck.
