Poets Garden HTX Writing Workshop with Ariana Brown

About
Poets Garden HTX is a new monthly generative writing workshop series led by poet Ariana Brown. Focused on artistic development and community building, this 2-hour monthly workshop is aimed at supporting the writing practices of local Houston poets of all backgrounds and experience levels ages 18+. Ariana will lead participants through a reading and discussion of a handful of curated poems, followed by writing prompts, time to write, and time to share. This is a welcoming community environment that prioritizes messy first drafts, celebrating one another’s work, and building relationships with peers.
Join Ariana on the 2nd floor in the Cecily E. Horton Gallery for the workshop. There is no public Internet access at Lawndale and very few outlets. Think of this as an analog space to connect with other writers and yourself. Please bring pen and paper to write.
No RSVP needed. Simply show up ready to write!
*Please note: this is a masks required event. KN95 face masks will be provided for free. An air purifier will also be running in the space. These safety measures are in place to protect the health of our community, including Ariana, who is immunocompromised.
