Lillian Warren

Round 20 (2026-2027)

Lillian Warren‘s paintings, using predominately acrylic and oil on mylar or canvas, explore her response to the transitory spaces of today’s cities. The recurring motifs, like recurring dreams, are a symbolic language. There can be an odd beauty in these spaces, but also the heavy footprint of a culture that has evolved into a throw-away society.

Warren grew up in the American South, and is currently based in Houston, TX. She received her BFA in studio art from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, completed graduate courses in Art History from the University of Toulouse, Toulouse, France, and later received an MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN. She was awarded the 2023 Edwards Trust Artist Residency in Painting at Angelo State University, and a 2025 residency at Hôtel Sainte Valière in Southern France. She has exhibited in juried group exhibitions around the country and was recently published for the 5th time in New American Paintings. Warren’s artwork has been included in solo exhibitions in numerous commercial galleries, and non-profit venues such as: Gallery 193, Angelo State University, San Angelo, TX; Galveston Arts Center, Galveston, TX; the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Art in Spring, TX; and the Lawndale Art Center, Houston, TX.
